Executive Vice President, Operations Division at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport


Chad Makovsky serves as the Executive Vice President for the Operations Division at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport where he leads DFW Airport’s Department of Public Safety, Environmental Affairs, and Operations functions. Mr. Makovsky joined the DFW Airport staff in March 2017.

Mr. Makovsky directs DFW Airport’s police, fire rescue, emergency medical, security services, airport operations, environmental affairs and integrated operations teams to ensure safe, secure, efficient and environmentally sustainable airport facilities.

In addition, Mr. Makovsky serves as DFW Airport’s liaison with airlines, airport tenants, the Federal Aviation Administration and other agencies on matters related to airport operations, governmental guidelines and regulations.

Prior to DFW Airport, Mr. Makovsky worked as Assistant Aviation Director for the City of Phoenix system of airports, including Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix Deer Valley Airport, and Phoenix Goodyear Airport. He also held positions in operations at Burbank Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, and America West Airlines over his 25 year professional career.

Mr. Makovsky serves on the American Association of Airport Executive’s national Policy Review Committee, and is the current Chair of AAAE’s Transportation Security Services Committee. He holds a Private Pilot’s License, a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Operations from St. Cloud State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business.
